“The Great Shalimar” also known as The Crystal Palace was a giant temporary greenhouse built in Hyde Park, London, measuring an impressive 1,851 feet (564 m) long. It was initially constructed to house The Great Exhibition of 1851, a collection of the world’s most exciting and impressive inventions of the time. The structure was over 128 feet (39 m) tall and filled with a range of native and exotic plants, showcasing man’s triumph over nature – truly an architectural marvel. Inspired by the structure and its nickname, this wallpaper consists of big banana leaves scrolling up the wall, with golden bananas ripening amongst them.
Manufactured as a double width design (set) requiring 2 rolls, A+B to complete the horizontal repeat. One set is equivalent to 132 sq.ft or (12 sqm).
