Designed by Bidjara (Eastern Queensland, Australia) artist Sheri Skele, People on Country Wallpaper is a complex design showcasing trees and the spiritual connection that Indigenous Australians have to country. Aboriginal law and spirituality are intertwined with the land, waterways, sea, and the Dreamtime creation which forms the basis for their culture and sovereignty. The artwork depicts groups of people sitting under trees in yarning circles, a tradition used by Indigenous peoples across the globe for centuries to learn from one another and pass on knowledge.
